Meet The Residents
To say the Tadken family likes the St. George area would be an understatement. They love living here. When Ovation Sienna Hills was announced, Ellen and Don quickly made their reservations. They were among the first to become Ovation Club members.
“We explored every independent and assisted living facility in the area,” Ellen said. “The Ovation experience appears to be the most enticing available in the area by far. It seems the most interesting and energetic that we could hope for. There is a special feeling that is unique over other choices we investigated. It is not a sit-around-in-your-rocking-chair sort of place.”
Living in the heartland for much of their 62 years of marriage, Ed and Joan McCarthy have seen and done a lot throughout their busy lives. Four of their biggest and proudest accomplishments, their three sons and one daughter, live throughout the country, raising and caring for the couple’s many grandchildren and living active lives of their own.
“Joan and I did a lot of traveling over the years,” Ed said. “I even had the chance to go to China for three weeks with my daughter. She won a contest in 1988, and asked me to go along with her. It was the trip of a lifetime.”
Currently living just 10 minutes from St. George via I-15, Erick and Barbara Nilsson have enjoyed quite the active life in SunRiver, Utah. But as Erick explained, the couple was ready for a change.
“Barbara had a stroke last year, so we knew we might need some help in the years to come,” Erick Nilsson explained when asked why the couple chose Ovation Sienna Hills. “We like that we can move into assisted living if needed. Plus, it’s just down the road from SunRiver, and has everything we love, like restaurants and the opportunity to be active.”
